• Background:
Because of the fact that Gouhou Drug has been on hiatus and at the point it went on hiatus at, there really hadn't been a whole lot of information given pertaining to Kazahaya's past. What little information was given is relatively vague, and as such, it's incredibly hard to formulate decent theories surrounding his past. As such, this little bit on his background will be... little. And for that, I apologize (blame CLAMP. D =)

Kazahaya spent most of his childhood living in isolation (it's implied that he never got past elementary school level of education) with his sister, Kei (most likely his twin. They look exactly alike.) The two were always together and Kazahaya swore to always stay by Kei's side but some strange circumstances prevented him from staying with her. He says that if they had stayed together, it would have been Kei or Kazahaya. Most likely he meant that for some reason, had they stayed together, one of them would have died. In order to avoid this problem, Kazahaya ran away from home and hasn't seen Kei since.

Kazahaya appears to have been on the run for quite some time and at the beginning of the series is found unconcious and dying in the middle of the snow by Rikuo Himura. He is taken to the Green Drugstore where he is offered a job by Kakei, the owner of the Green Drugstore. Kazahaya agrees and moves into a small flat with Rikuo (over the Green Drugstore, I believe.) Kazahaya takes on extra jobs from Kakei, namely in the supernatural, often fetching strange objects or other strange jobs (similiar to the jobs given to Watanuki by Yuuko in xxxHOLiC) in order to make more money with the hopes of someday soon being able to afford a place to live on his own.

Kazahaya has the ability to see the memories of certain people and things he touches, and is also able to channel the emotions of the people in those memories to a varying degree.

• Personality:
Kazahaya is, in short, a spazz. He has a tendancy to flip out over the simpliest of things and has a relatively short temper. He often reacts to Rikuo's constant teasing by flailing about. He appears to be somewhat naive but Kazahaya is still quite capable at certain tasks.

Kazahaya is often described as having cat-like tendancies. He has amazing agility and speed, and is often draw with cat ears and a tail whenever he's angry or upset. He also appears to have a heightened sense of smell and vision, like a cat.
